The medical group at the University of Basrah continues its relentless efforts to produce viral transport media for the detection of the novel Coronavirus.

Dr. Falah Hassan Shari stated: "Work is underway in the laboratories of the College of Pharmacy to produce the viral transport medium for the Coronavirus and send it to the Public Health Laboratory at Basrah General Hospital. (300) viral transport media (VTM), (2,280) tubes for preparing the patient's sample to be placed in the PCR device, and (1,000) medical swabs have been prepared to take a swab from the nose and throat of the person infected with the virus."

Shari added: "Work is still ongoing with the efforts of the specialized colleges of the University of Basrah and their medical staff, working day and night to provide these materials until the crisis ends, God willing."
