Basrah - College of Pharmacy Media:

With exceptional efforts by the staff of the medical group at the University of Basrah, the preparation of a set of viral transport media for the Coronavirus was completed today in the laboratories of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah. All health directorates in Iraq and the world suffer from a shortage of these media due to the increasing demand for them, as they were produced locally at the University of Basrah.

The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Falah Hassan Shari, stated that the materials used in the production were collected from the laboratories of the College of Pharmacy and were produced according to international specifications. This was done under the supervision of the President of the University and in cooperation between Al-Zahraa College of Medicine and the College of Pharmacy. Shari continued: "We will work on developing it and producing more quantities to isolate the virus from the patient to facilitate the work of medical staff in diagnosis."
