A master's thesis at the College of Pharmacy discusses the production of interferon

A master’s thesis at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah (production, purification and characterization of interferon alpha-2b) by student Ihab Hamed Abdul Majeed.
Where the thesis dealt with, the study of the production of interferon alpha2b protein in bacteria by genetic engineering method of recombinant DNA technology rDNA, its extraction and characterization.  Where the genetic sequence of interferon alpha2b approved by the NCBI was adopted and inserted into bacterial strains that have the ability to produce the protein interferon alpha2b, then it was extracted by SDS-page electrophoresis and Western blot.
The message concluded, that interferon alpha2b has been produced, purified and studied for its properties, which need several ways to produce this vital and important drug in the manufacture of this treatment in the region to reduce its cost and provide it for the treatment of immune diseases in our country.
