Basrah - College of Pharmacy Media:

A delegation from the Crisis Cell at the University of Basrah conducted a field visit to the Health Center at the University of Basrah - Karma Ali Campus. The visit was directed by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen, supervised by the Head of the Crisis Cell, Professor Dr. Khalil Al-Hamdi, and chaired by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Falah Hassan Shari. The delegation included members Dr. Asaad Mohammed, Dr. Rafid Abdul-Jabbar, and Dr. Ali Anmar. The delegation met with the center's director, Dr. Haider Abdul-Ridha, to review the reality of health services and precautionary measures to confront the Coronavirus.

The head of the delegation, Dr. Falah Hassan, stated: "The university's health center lacks many health and service capabilities to confront this epidemic. It was found that the building and infrastructure need rehabilitation, reconstruction, and medical equipment to supply the center. There is also a need for medical supplies, including disinfectants, sterilizers, surgical masks, gloves, thermometers, electrocardiogram (ECG) devices, service carts for transporting bandages, and other supplies, as well as the need for furniture, cooling devices, and other materials."

Shari also emphasized: "This visit is not the last, and there will be future visits to review the health service reality, as this center was established primarily to serve the students, and subsequently the staff and professors in the university housing." The head of the committee called on the relevant authorities to support the center with all possible capabilities.
