to reinforce the concept of the producing university and for the actual contribution of the university under the current circumstances and to confront the risks of the Corona virus outbreak, staff at the University of Basra manufactured a quantity of liquid hand sanitizers, in addition to the hand sterilization gel after most of them were carried out from pharmacies throughout Iraq under the direct supervision of the Presidency of Basra University With the help of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Falah Hassan Shri, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ramzi Salem Ali, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the National University, Dr. Muhammad Sabbar, the Assistant Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Miqdad, the Head of the Pharmacology Branch, Dr. Ahmed, and the Head of the Pharmaceutical Branch, Dr. Mohsen Ghaleb, and the Head of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Branch, Dr. Munther Abdul-Jalil and the Teaching Rafid Abdel Raouf, in partnership with Dr. Alaa Abdel-Razzaq from the College of Engineering. The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Falah Hasan Shri, confirmed: The materials used in manufacturing are from Basra University laboratories, which are alcohol, glycerin, hydrogen peroxide and polymers. Shri added: This initiative comes due to the feeling of responsibility from the staff of Basra University towards society to face any risks that this virus may cause, adding that the quantities produced will be distributed to Basra hospitals as a contribution from the university in order to preserve the souls of our health staff who sacrifice the precious for our souls and our families. Also, our staff are fully prepared to manufacture medical preparations as soon as raw materials become available to cover the needs of hospitals and health centers throughout the governorate and the country
