College of Pharmacy organizes its second international scientific conference on pharmaceutical sciences

The College of Pharmacy at University of Basrah, under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the Pharmacists' Syndicate in Basra and Al-Maqal Private University, organized the second international scientific conference under the slogan "Pharmaceutical Sciences and its role in the sustainability of community health" with the participation of researchers and specialists from around the world.
In a speech Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, President of University of Basrah, stated the importance of pharmaceutical sciences and their role in serving the community, he praised the great role of the College of Pharmacy during the Crisis of the Corona Pandemic and pharmaceutical research, which reaped patents from inside Iraq and America in addition to a role in the service of society, which was the forefront of scientific and humanitarian research and today adds another achievement to University of Basrah through the holding of the second International Conference of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Hammadi added: I thank all the researchers and participants from the provinces and other countries and the conference committees and all the sponsors of the conference.
On the other hand, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Falah Hassan Shri, said in his speech at the conference that approximately 43 papers have been submitted, of which 32 papers have been approved to participate in the conference, all of which are original researches that are not published in advance, and nearly half of the research was nominated for publication in the Iraqi Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences after coordination with the magazine, in addition to the making of a booklet on the facts of the conference, including 32 complete papers being prepared electronically on the faculty's website.
In another context, the representative of the Syndicate of Pharmacists in Iraq, Dr. Mahmoud Shaker, said in a speech: The Pharmacists Syndicate supports all scientific meetings that will raise the level of research in order to serve the community because pharmaceutical sciences have a fundamental and direct role in the life of the individual and today we brought together the scientific conference of the College of Pharmacy with researchers and international speakers for their research the active role in the lives of the people.
The conference discussed several topics, including measuring some vital stimulants in the serum of workers near oil wells, as well as assessing the pharmacological efficacy of some chemical compounds such as 4, 5-dihydro-1H-Pyrazole-1-yl acetate to be antioxidants and infections, as well as finding the pharmacological effectiveness of some plant extracts to prevent certain diseases and their effects on humans and animals. Corona pandemic research, genetically study of the virus, drugs used in its treatment, side effects of treatments used for the virus, as well as vaccines and their types and extent of impact on the virus.
The speakers at the conference, Dr. Tariq Mohammed Hassan Osman of The Islamic University of Umderman in Sudan. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Sayed of Beni Suef University in Egypt gave a lecture on natural marine products as a repository of biologically active compounds. Dr. Amanda Bryant-Friedrich of Wayne State University of the United States spoke about the creation of some tools to study the role of transformation that occurs after the copying process in U2 snRNA. Dr. Peta Shahrami from Iran discussed the drug treatment for hematoma and the decline in blood circulation related to it.
The chairman of the scientific committee, Dr. Osama Ayoub Yaacoub, explained the most important recommendations of the conference, including providing financial support to researchers to complete research commensurate with the challenges faced by the health reality in Iraq and encouraging researchers to develop their scientific clinical, pharmaceutical and environmental research in the disciplines of pharmacy assorted and optimal and security for pharmaceutical treatments of the herbal plant source and emphasizing the importance of pharmaceutical cadres in the public and private sectors and their roles in the integration of the medical and health system where it should not be The role of the pharmacist in the dispensing of medicine only, but must be an expert and consultant medicine in addition to calling for attention to the national pharmaceutical industry and finding a clear and effective way to integrate programs to train and develop clinical pharmacists in the health sector and educational hospitals with educational institutions corresponding geographically by benefiting from pharmaceutical expertise.
