The workshop included a lecture that shed light on diabetes and the studies related to it due to the seriousness of this disease and the speed of its spread, as studies indicated that by 2030, diabetes will be the seventh cause of death in the world, as the prevalence of the disease is 40% of those over the age of 25, and the rate of Undiagnosed persons with a diagnosed rate of 1 to 1 confirms the severity and prevalence of diabetes. The lecture also showed the essential role of the pharmacist as a consultant for diabetics, as studies have proven that the presence of the pharmacist in the patient’s medical team would reduce the negative effects and side effects of the medications the patient takes, in addition to reducing costs for the patient himself and for the state as well.
