The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a workshop entitled (Controls for Scientific Promotions and the Basics of Publication in Reputable Journals) with the participation of researchers and specialists.  The workshop included two lectures delivered by Prof. Dr. Osama Ayoub Yaqoub and Assistant Professor Dr. Zuhair Ghaleb Al-Shaheen, where the most important controls and instructions received regarding the promotion form for Instructions No. 167 of 2017, were discussed, where the instructions were explained in detail with the mention of the updated ministerial books received from the Research and Development Department  The attendees were also trained in an applied manner on how to choose and search for discreet magazines and avoid publishing in predatory and counterfeit magazines, as well as discussing in detail how to raise promotions transactions, the necessary timings and calculating points. The workshop recommended the issuance of an administrative order for the Accreditation Committee of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah and giving it the powers, the most important of which is to direct the teaching staff to publish in journals with knowledge of predatory journals and the latest updates for publication in the Scopus container, as well as filling the table related to accreditation by the committee with calculating the points for Table No. 1 as well as urging the teachers  To avoid predatory and profitable magazines and publish instead in reputable magazines and Iraqi magazines, in addition to providing researchers and graduate students with information about the journals to be published before publication and are approved for a period of 6 months from the date of their issuance
