The faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, Walaa Nassif Jassim, published a paper entitled “Categorizing Wind Sounds Using Different Acoustic Features Extraction Techniques” in Informatica magazine in Slovenia with an impact factor of 2.6 and within Scopus containers.
The research included building a sound and wind detection system, and this focuses on classifying some layers of wind sounds based on the features of the information contained in the signal, and these features are used to investigate the type of wind sound signal. A classification has been applied for seven categories of wind sounds, and these are (calm, wailing wind, ghost, storm, cold, desert, frightening).
