The seminar included a lecture given by researcher Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Wahed, in which he discussed how to reduce the side effect and improve the effectiveness of ibuprofen by converting carboxylic acid into five member rings. The study recommended the adoption of the resulting derivatives as a suitable alternative to ibuprofen for people who suffer from stomach ulcers.
