Basrah - College of Pharmacy Media:
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titled "The Off-Label Use of Tranexamic Acid for the Treatment of Melasma," in a lecture presented by Dr. Noor Kadhim Mohammed.
The seminar included an explanation of Tranexamic Acid, which has long been used to treat various types of bleeding. However, an off-label use of this drug has recently emerged to help treat melasma, as it is effective in treating skin pigmentation caused by sun exposure, which often occurs on the face.
The seminar clarified that there are many studies indicating the effectiveness of this treatment when used at a low dose (250 mg / twice a day), either orally or as a topical treatment on the skin.
