The Dean of the College of Pharmacy attends the inaugural launch of the approved standards for the accreditation of colleges of pharmacy in Iraq

The Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Falah Hassan Shari, attended the inaugural launch of the approved standards for the accreditation of colleges of pharmacy in Iraq, and in the presence of Professor Salah Al-Fatlawi, head of the Standardization and Quality Control Organisation, and Professor Ahmed Abbas, head of the Accreditation Committee, the important criteria for accreditation of pharmacy colleges were launched, which were approved by a group of  Deans of Colleges of Pharmacy, members of the National Council for Accreditation of Colleges of Pharmacy in Iraq to ensure that the level of pharmaceutical education and graduates are qualified to provide service in health and pharmaceutical institutions.
These standards are based largely on the latest updates and recommendations of the World Health Organization and the International Federation for Pharmaceutical Education.
While the benefit of accreditation is summarized in the general improvement of the quality of pharmaceutical education, there is another benefit which is to verify the quality of education in each pharmacy college, and the primary responsibility lies with each college to develop its curricula to achieve the college’s objectives to graduate pharmacists qualified to provide health services.
