A faculty member staff at the College of Pharmacy participates in a doctoral thesis discussion committee.

Dr. Huda Saleh Aboud, an Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, participated as one of the members of the PhD thesis discussion committee on the preparation of new compounds derived from galcon at the College of Education for Pure Sciences. The thesis included a study of the preparation of new compounds derived from galcon, a study of the biological activity, and a theoretical study by computer methods (Docking) to determine the most stable position of these compounds. The binding affinity with α- and β-estrogen was also studied to obtain an estimate of the best correlation and interaction for breast cancer treatment, as well as flow cytometry to estimate the percentage of detecting the early stage of apoptosis and determining the percentage of apoptosis.
