Publication of a teaching book at the College of Pharmacy on biotechnology and its applications.

Dr. Labid Abdullah Najm Al-Saad from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, has published a book entitled (Biotechnologies and their applications). The book, which included (268) pages divided into (10) chapters, shed light on the basic principles in this vital science to be a scientific presentation that explains the concept of the cell, its structure and functions, touching on the differences between the plant and animal cell and reviewing in detail the fungal and bacterial cell, as well as the book on proteins and their structure Their nomenclature, functions, methods of diagnosis, and their importance for cell and life, as well as the definition of nucleic acids, their chemical structure and thermodynamics of nucleic acids, with an explanation of the physical and chemical properties of nucleic acids, in addition to a detailed mechanism of the method of replication of nucleic acid and its steps and the mechanism behind replication, as well as DNA damage and repair mechanisms and an explanation of external and internal factors The cause of damage and its types, as well as the mechanisms of repair adopted in the living cell in modifying the damage, as the book clarified a historical definition and presentation with a detailed explanation of the basic steps used in the chlorination of genes, applications of genetic chlorination and applications of biotechnologies in agriculture. The book concluded with a glossary of biotechnologies terms in agriculture.

The book, with its ten chapters, is a scientific and practical subject for students of primary and higher studies in the faculties of agriculture, science and education for pure sciences, as well as scientific institutes, to serve the theoretical and practical side in the field of biotechnology and its applications.
