The College of Pharmacy organizes a seminar on the life of viruses

 The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized, and within a series of lectures by the visiting professor, a panel discussion entitled (Treatment of viral infections general strategies and selected cases) with the participation of researchers and specialists. The episode included a lecture given by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Asaad Al-Mawafi - Professor of Immunology at the Faculty of Pharmacy - Mansoura University / Arab Republic of Egypt. It included an explanation about the structure, diagnosis and life cycle of viruses, as they are microorganisms with a size of up to  25-250 nm  They are composed of a substance coated with protein and lipids, and some viruses are surrounded only by a protein. Viruses are classified into two types, namely RNA viruses. like  Rubella, Measles, Rabies, Infuenza, Heptatits C (HCV), Human immuodeficiency virus (HIV), and COVID-19  All of these types belong to the class of enveloped viruses or Heptatis A virus (HAV).  , coxsackie virus, which are of the non-enveloped type and the second type are DNA viruses  Such as Heptatis B(HBV), Herpes simplex (HSV), Cytomegalo virus (CMV), Varicella zoster, all of which are enveloped.or Human papilloma virus (HPV)which is unwrapped Then Al-Muwafi spoke about different ways and strategies to control virus infection through the use of antiviral drugs as well as the use of antibodies.
