The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion on (the effect of Covid on the nervous system and addressing the drugs used to protect the nervous system from the impact of Covid 19), with the participation of researchers and specialists.  The seminar included a lecture by Dr. Manal Abdel-Khaleq, in which she explained the effect of Covid 19 on the nervous system and the way it enters the nervous system, either through the olfactory nerve or through the cells lining the blood vessels of the nerve barriers. The effects of COVID-19 on the elderly and immuno compromised people were also discussed.   Finally, the treatment with erythropoietin was discussed as a proposed option to protect the nervous system, which is considered a basic protection against respiratory failure, which is controlled by the nervous system.
