The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized its annual evaluation conference for the academic year 2022/2023, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Maqal University, Professor Dr. Falah Hassan Shari, the representative of the University President, the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Raghdan Hashim Al-Sharaa, and Dr. Ammar, a representative of the Quality Department in the Presidency of the University of Basrah and in the presence of the College Council its professors and employees.
The conference aimed to review what was accomplished during the academic year and compare it to the previous year in order to advance the college to the highest academic and administrative levels.
The conference included a review of the college’s achievements during the academic year 2022/2023, where the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Gibran Khalil Hassan, presented several axes, namely scientific research, the scientific and administrative axis, and the axis of volunteer work and community service. The scientific research axis dealt with a detailed explanation of the published research and the research being conducted. Work on it, completed research, and published research in cooperation with institutions outside the country. As for the administrative axis, it dealt with the diversity of sources of income and developing the college’s infrastructure through self-efforts. The scientific axis also discussed scientific cooperation agreements, the number of patents, and the classification of the College of Pharmacy among international sites. As for the community service axis, it explained what it does. This includes visits to nursing homes, the elderly, and orphans, and what it donates monthly to charitable organizations, the Al Ain Foundation, and the Children’s Specialized Cancer Hospital.
The conference also highlighted the weak points that hinder work and proposals to address them, as well as what the college does for its students through sports and artistic activities, which provide an outlet for the student from the pressure of study, and the students’ participation in various tournaments, including football, chess, and backgammon tournaments, as the conference explained. The college’s most important achievements during the Corona pandemic include producing the carrier medium, obtaining an advanced position in the national classification of Iraqi universities over the faculties of the medical group at the University of Basrah obtaining first place in developing websites at the University of Basrah second place in the university’s electronic week, first place in the university’s warehouse week, and transferring a number A large amount of furniture, appliances, and glassware for the various colleges of the university, maintenance of the palm research center, rehabilitation of the tissue agriculture laboratory, and a donation to the dorms of internet systems and cooling devices.
On the sidelines of the conference, retired professors, employees, and top students at all levels were honored.
