College of Pharmacy Holds Seminar on Oxidative Stress and its Impact on Human Diseases
The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences organized a specialized seminar to investigate the critical role of oxidative stress in disease development, featuring participation from medical researchers and specialists.
The seminar featured a lecture by Master’s candidate Ali Abdul Hussein Khalifa, who detailed the mechanisms by which oxidative stress affects physiological functions. He explained that understanding these impacts allows for the adoption of preventative strategies centered on healthy lifestyle integration and effective stress management.
The lecture emphasized the importance of consuming antioxidant-rich foods to support the body's natural defense mechanisms. It highlighted that making conscious daily choices is fundamental to combating oxidative stress, promoting overall well-being, and reducing the risk of chronic illnesses.
