The University of Basrah team (Iraq) won the bronze medal in boxing in the World University Games Championship currently being held in Russia with the participation of countries around the world. The university team won this medal through its player (Yahya Iskandar), who played against the Tajik boxer in a match characterized by a great rivalry, and the delegation celebrated. Iraqi team in Russia with this achievement, which represents a new victory for Iraqi university sports in international forums. In turn, the President of the University of Basrah Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen, extended his congratulations and blessings to the Iraqi delegation participating in Russia via a phone call, during which he praised their sports efforts to raise the name of the university and Iraq high.
