College of Pharmacy Participates in the Closing Conference of the "Wa'i" Project for Women Empowerment
Mrs. Najla Al-Saffar, an Assistant Lecturer at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, participated in the closing conference of the "Awareness" (Wa'i) project. The initiative focused on raising leadership awareness to prevent gender-based violence, organized by the Al-Firdaws Organization for Peace Building in cooperation with the Women's Empowerment Department in the Basrah Governorate Council.
Al-Saffar explained that the project consisted of a year-long series of training workshops and awareness sessions targeting women in Basrah Governorate. The program was built upon the Protection and Prevention pillars of the Second National Action Plan for UN Resolution 1325.
The college's participation highlights its commitment to positive engagement with social issues and support for initiatives that promote social peace and women's leadership. This alignment with national and international human rights and sustainable development frameworks further strengthens the institution's civic impact.
