The College of Pharmacy is re-equipping the fluorescent microscope in its laboratories

The Electron Microscope Unit at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah has reconfigured the fluorescent microscope to work and conduct examinations within the Electron Microscope Unit laboratories.
Assistant Professor Dr. Nisreen Walid Mustafa, head of the unit, stated: The fluorescent microscope is a light microscope used to study the properties of organic and inorganic materials using the phenomenon of phosphorescent fluorescence. The fluorescent microscope has many applications in the field of medicine, disease diagnosis, diagnosis of microorganisms, chemistry, physics and food sciences. Fluorescent microscopy for detection of target molecules in tissues or cells in order to assess spatial resolution and expression levels.
It is also routinely used in research to study complex biochemical pathways and in diagnostics to detect markers that indicate disease status and progression.
