and Under the slogan (University of Basrah, a beacon of creativity and innovation), organized the second patent conference of the College of Pharmacy and the sixteenth of the Center for Innovation and Creativity, with the participation of researchers and specialists.
the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Falah Hassan Shri, stated: The aim of holding this conference is to benefit from the patents issued by the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control for medical, agricultural, engineering, and pure sciences, and through the cooperation of universities, investors, businessmen, and agencies that can transform these innovations And patents to practical applications involved in the implementation of projects that serve the community in those areas.
Shri added: During the conference, which lasted on 22-23 February, a number of patents submitted, amounting to (70) patents, were heard, which were presented and discussed with their owners, with the aim of maturing cooperation and joint coordination and converting those patents into studied practical applications. As for the recommendations that emerged from the conference, a committee was formed to formulate the recommendations and issue the final conference statement.
Dr. Falah explained: A scientific arbitration committee was formed to supervise the submitted patents and select the most appropriate ones, as the (Creativity Shield) was awarded to the first four patents in the medical, engineering, agricultural and applied sciences fields.
At the conclusion of the conference, the President of the University of Basrah, the dean of the College of Pharmacy, the administrative assistant of the college, and the director of the Innovation and Creativity Center for the southern region distributed certificates and medals to the patent owners, participants, and the technical and preparatory committees for the conference.
