The Pharmaceutical Chemistry department at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion (Safety and Security in the Laboratory) with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The panel discussion included a lecture given by the lecturer Dr. Sita Azad Agward; It included a detailed explanation about the benefit of knowing the risks inside the laboratory, how to take precautions and caution, and adopt the recommended safety instructions in each laboratory. The lecture also touched on some laboratory abbreviations for public safety. Use personal protective equipment and understand how to view a chemical hazard assessment form for any experiment
The lecture also highlighted the need for a first aid kit for all laboratory workers, safety data sheets that provide information about chemical products, information that helps users of those chemicals to conduct a risk assessment, availability of a hood and work inside it, eye protection glasses, gloves and fire extinguishers.
