The Clinical Laboratory Sciences department of the College of Pharmacy at University of Basrah held a panel discussion entitled (The effect of parasitic infection with ascariasis on lung function tests in children with and without asthma), with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The seminar included a lecture given by the lecturer Dr. Suha Haitham Muhammad, in which she indicated that infection with intestinal parasites (the Ascaris worm) may stimulate immune infections in the respiratory system, especially in children, because the larval stages of this worm migrate to the lungs and bronchi during its life cycle until it is completed and becomes adult in the intestine and this What we have reached, but we have found that the greatest effect of allergy is what causes disruption in lung and respiratory functions.
