Faculty members at the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Falah Hasan Shari, Dr. Hiba Dawood, and Dr. Jubran Khalil Hassan, published a research paper titled "Study of the Effect of Taurine on Vital Bones in the Body and Regulation of Blood Glucose Levels in Type 2 Diabetic Patients" in the Indian journal (International Journal of Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences), which has an impact factor of (1.5) and is indexed in Scopus.
The research involved administering Taurine, an amino acid (oral dietary supplement), to patients with type 2 diabetes for a period of three months. This was followed by measuring the concentration of vital bone biomarkers, body weight, and blood sugar levels after this period to determine the extent of the impact and benefit of this supplement in treating osteoporosis.
The research aimed to study the benefit of administering Taurine for three months on vital bone biomarkers, blood sugar levels, and body weight in patients with type 2 diabetes.
