The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, organized an orientation workshop titled:

"Scientific and Academic Guidelines for Postgraduate Students in the Preparatory Year"

The workshop aimed to prepare prospective postgraduate students for the academic year (2026–2027) and introduce them to the statutory regulations governing their academic and research pursuits.

The session featured a keynote presentation delivered by the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Karamallah Shaker, who outlined the essential directives issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research concerning coursework curricula, examination systems, the academic calendar, and the protocols governing study extensions.

Discussions also covered tuition fee schedules for privately-funded students, as well as the prerequisite protocol for mandatory medical drug screening through certified official healthcare centers via the Ministry's electronic portal.

This initiative is part of the college's ongoing commitment to supporting postgraduate scholars, ensuring a seamless onboarding process into the academic and research environment of the College of Pharmacy.
