Regulations for the Return of Dismissed Postgraduate Students
Pursuant to Ministerial Letter No. (1210-27046) dated 4/3/2026
Based on the directive of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the regulations for the return of postgraduate students whose enrollment has been canceled to study seats, students wishing to return must contact their respective scientific departments to submit return applications. These requests will be reviewed by the concerned formations according to two primary axes:
The First Axis:
(Dismissed postgraduate student for the first time, not previously benefiting from the return regulations)
A review of the return conditions as stated in the ministerial letter for the first axis, and as clarified in the return regulations announcement via the link below, which includes the following provisions:
- A. Failure in the second attempt.
- B. Failure in the comprehensive examination.
- C. Failure to complete research within the prescribed period and extensions.
- D. Termination of relationship due to the non-nomination of the thesis/dissertation for defense by the two scientific experts.
The Second Axis:
(Dismissed student who has previously benefited from the return regulations to postgraduate study seats more than once)
The competent committee will review the return requests for dismissed students according to the instructions of this axis. The return application and pledge forms will be according to the official form provided, starting from the 1st of April 2026 until the 1st of July. This includes students dismissed for the following reasons:
- A. Previously benefited from the return regulations.
- B. Failure to commence studies after postponement.
- C. Withdrawal after the specified commencement period.
- D. Failure in more than half of the first semester subjects.
- E. Failure to provide study leave within the specified period.
- F. Absence (preparatory stage or final exams).
- G. Failure in the second attempt.
- H. Failure to complete research within the prescribed period.
- I. Failure in the comprehensive examination.
- J. Withdrawal due to employment.
- K. Non-nomination of the thesis for defense by experts.
- L. Termination due to failure to complete drug testing.
- M. Cancellation of admission due to pending security clearances.
- N. Violation of application conditions regarding department officials.
