The College of Pharmacy discusses derivatives of the Ghaf plant.

Basrah - Pharmacy College Media:

A Master's thesis was discussed at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, titled: "Comparison of the Biological Activity of Flavonoids Isolated from the Ghaf Plant and Its Derivatives."

The research, presented by student Ghadeer Sadiq Jayid, involved isolating pure flavonoids from the Ghaf plant and synthesizing metallic derivatives, specifically complexes with Chromium (III), to study their chemical and spectral properties.

The study aimed to evaluate anti-cancer activity and cellular safety, demonstrating how metallic modification enhances biological efficacy and solubility. These findings support the development of selective and safer natural therapeutic agents.
