The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah discussed the Master's thesis presented by the student Mujtaba Zain Al-Abidin Abdul-Ali, titled: "Extraction and Biochemical/Biological Study of Some Active Compounds Extracted from Types of Wild Pistachio."
The study involved phytochemical investigation and isolation of compounds from (Pistacia khinjuk) fruits collected from northern Iraq, evaluating the effectiveness of the crude oil extract in accelerating the wound healing process.

This study represents a new scientific contribution in identifying alkaloids in this plant species and isolating the compound Piperine, opening promising horizons for developing natural pharmaceutical treatments based on Iraq's biodiversity.
