Filling Vacant Seats for Applicants to Postgraduate Studies for the Academic Year 2024-2025

 

In reference to the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research on 30/7/2024 regarding filling vacant seats for applicants for postgraduate studies for the academic year 2024-2025, we would like to clarify the following:

In order to address the vacant seats in the admission plan for postgraduate studies for the year 2024/2025 and to fulfill the possible procedures to include those who passed the competitive examination by comparison according to merit by reserving unoccupied seats in all admission channels, the following mechanism is adopted:

  1. Opening the door for rotation among all privilege seats for successful candidates to fill their vacant seats from 30/7/2024 until 1/8/2024.
  2. Universities have the right to rotate from the general admission channel to the private expense channel to fill vacant seats (if any) according to merit from 1/8/2024 until 6/8/2024.
  3. Successful candidates within the general admission and private expense channels are allowed to rotate to vacant privilege seats (according to the highest basic comparison average).
  4. Authorizing university councils to grant critical cases close to passing the competitive examination no more than five marks to fill vacant seats starting from 7/8/2024.
  5. Including the category of people with special needs with a second added seat based on the first amendment to the Law of People with Disabilities and Special Needs No. (38) of 2013, while adhering to the condition of passing.
  6. Taking into account the following:
    • A- Rotation from the general admission channel to the private expense channel.
    • B- Rotation from the private expense channel to privilege category seats is exclusively for the successful candidate and on the private expense channel.
    • C- Rotation from the general admission channel to privilege category seats.
    • D- Vacant seats may not be rotated from one university to another.

Important Note: The rotation request must be submitted through the electronic system.
