The Department of Pharmaceutics qualifies undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students with the required knowledge and skills to be designers of conventional and novel dosage forms and drug delivery systems. This department graduates pharmacists having the experience and the information related to the structure and the characteristics of different pharmaceutical products to work as qualified pharmacists in the hospitals, community pharmacies, pharmaceutical industry and academia.

The department is interested in studying the principles of pharmaceutical applications and pharmaceutical calculations of pharmaceutical preparations and their physical characteristics and other various types of pharmaceuticals manufactured and compounded and their components and methods of manufacturing and pharmaceutical release systems and the study of process of absorption and metabolism of pharmaceutical compounds within the human body in addition to evaluating the bioavailability of them to be these sciences as a scientific and intellectual tributary for graduates of the college to get benefit from it in hospitals, pharmacies and pharmaceutical laboratories.
Vision:
The department aspires to be one of the leading branches in delivering the basics of the process of manufacturing and compounding the drugs and the pharmaceutical preparations and to be one of the prestigious scientific branches and a base to upgrade the scientific level of the college.

Providing education services in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and specialized in the processes of manufacturing of medicine and improving its specifications and modern technologies in this field through scientific research and teaching to provide state institutions and the private sector with pharmaceutical expertise and competencies and provide various consultancies in aspect pharmaceutical sciences
Goals:
1- Activating the work in the field of manufacturing medicines and introducing the latest scientific methods in the process of improving the specifications of physical and chemical medicine.
2- The establishment of a pharmaceutical industry to serve the southern region.
3- Cooperation with government agencies and the private sector to provide advisory services and quality control privileges.
